Grocery Store Mayhem

Hey guys. So today I spent some time at the local grocery store trying to educate people about pro-choice abortion. I had some successful discussions with women and men walking out of the store. I think I’ve changed some people’s minds about what is right and what is wrong.

But get this! I walked up to this one lady pushing a giant cart full of food and asked her politely if she had time to listen to me. She said yes, so I began to tell her about advocacy for women’s rights. I emphasize abortion and how women should have the right to decide whether or not they are prepared to bring a newborn into this world. I talked about rape among other things. AND THEN this lady has the nerve to preach to me about “God’s gift of life” and how if  a woman becomes pregnant, she must accept the pregnancy. So let me guess, even if a woman who lives an unstable life, cannot support herself, yet alone another human being, becomes pregnant, she has to follow through? I don’t know about that… I mean I believe in a God, but I’m not sure He’d want that for the world…

ANYWAY, I’m home now, reading “The Color Purple” for the 10th time. :]

Surprising Interview

Hello again!

So the other day, I had an interview for a position at a prestigious law firm. I came well prepared in my opinion. I put on my best suit and a smiling face. I actually believe I was a bit qualified for the position I was applying for, considering all the previous experience I’ve had working for other firms.

So get this! I walk into the firm and take a seat at the front lobby.  When I get called in, a tall, stalky man takes me through the office and into a room for my interview. Although my walk was brief, I couldn’t help but notice how male dominated the office was. Out of all the people I passed in the office, there was perhaps only two women that I saw that day; the woman at the front desk and one secretary. I take pride in being a woman lawyer, but after that brief walk, I wondered what my actual chances were of getting a spot in the firm. It’s hard to believe that male-dominated companies still exist in modern society! WOW! I’m appalled.

Anyway, I still gave my best during the interview. I should receive a call back sometime soon with some kind of news. Who knows? Maybe this particular firm is ready for a change.

Modern Day Feminist Here

Hello world!

It’s me, Natasha. So, I’ve decided to create this blog to share my thoughts about the world with everyone and anyone who comes across my blog. FYI, I am a feminist. I love fighting for my rights and I definitely am not afraid to show it. I’ll be posting about my thoughts and pictures that please me. That’s all for now!
